Gaming

One of the most active aspects of the society is its Gaming side. As a society, we play a wide range of titles across a number of platforms, and also create provision for playing within the University.

Gaming Sessions

We hold weekly gaming sessions in the Department of Computer Science.

LAN Parties

We usually hold two weekend LAN parties every term in a University room, allowing members to bring their own machines along and play their titles of choice together. The week long BFL at the end of term three is the highlight of compsoc’s calendar.

Online

Many of our members play a wide variety of titles online, both together and occasionally against other universities. A good way of arranging games is on our IRC network, particularly through the #gaming channel, though there are also game-specific channels such as #dota and #wow. If you have Steam, you should join our Steam group. If you’re another university searching for an opponent, feel free to contact us!
